Electronics usually reset during starting because their supply voltage falls below the equipment's operating threshold. The cause may be a weak battery, excessive starting draw, undersized or corroded wiring, a poor ground, or electronics sharing the wrong circuit.

Starting creates the largest electrical load

A healthy system is designed to tolerate cranking, but every cable, switch, fuse, connection, and battery contributes resistance. When voltage falls at the electronics even though the battery seems acceptable, the distribution path needs to be measured under load.

Do not assume the display is faulty

Multiple devices rebooting together strongly suggests a shared supply problem. One device resetting may still be wiring, but its local connector, fuse holder, software, or internal power supply also becomes relevant.

The repair depends on the architecture

Trace the affected equipment back through its fuse block, ground bus, battery switch, and battery bank. Devices mounted together may not share the same supply, while equipment in different areas may depend on one undersized feed or common ground.

Measure voltage at the electronics during cranking and compare it with the battery and starter circuit at the same moment. That comparison shows whether the whole system is collapsing or the loss occurs within the electronics branch. Any redesign should preserve correct circuit protection and follow equipment requirements.
